Maury's art camp display

After going to "Go Picasso" camp, Maury is pleased with all her works of art. Except the clay coral snake, which broke right when we were taking the picture! They did a caribbean theme and she really enjoyed it!

"Pink tails"

Rebecca had her first "pink-tails" as Lucy insists on calling them. She knows they are supposed to be pig-tails but prefers the name she invented. They were cute but didn't stay in long.

"best friends"
how could you not stop for lemonade!!!!

We have had several lemonade stands this summer with our neighbors and friends that we've had over. We even have some regular customers....These girls are making some money!!! Of course, when you make 8 dollars and it's split 4 ways, it comes out to $2 each, etc. But Maury is saving up for a leapster....we'll see if she can get it by the end of the summer!

Fairpark fun

Silly sisters

See the bride in the back!

they love the old fashioned merry go round!

stalking the baby

One evening we went to Fairpark to check out the new park and then the fountain (already a fave). It was Rebecca's first time this summer and walking. She was the baby stalker...chased babies and screamed at, patted and waved at them. There was even a bride getting pics made....! What a hip park for ole Tupelo!!!

Sillies....

Richard and the "big girls" left a day before us for the Lake because Rebecca was on the mend from a virus/cold/something. I was so glad to get a pic of all the johnston cousins, including little 4 month old Laurel Katherine. It was a fun weekend, especially for all those girl cousins.

Baseball Ballerinas

They wore the boots in to the dress rehearsal (and we forgot them til the next day)!

Meri Alan and Lucy Helen - so silly!
Maury and some fellow rainbows

Grandmother, Nana and girls at Harvey'sResting between recital and t-ball

Lucy ran all over the field from first base, eventually made it to second base!

Scoring a run!!!

The dance recital this year was Maury's 3rd and Lucy Helen's first. They take at Tupelo Academy of Dance Arts (TADA) -Sharon Long's studio, where my sister and I took growing up. The theme was an enchanted forest. Maury's ballet class danced as rainbows and Lulu's were bumblebees. They were so cute!!!! Maury battled a little stage fright at the dress rehearsal and then did great at the actual recital. Lulu just grinned the whole time and loved it! My grandmother and mom and I took them to Harvey's for the brownie dessert, which they thought was THE best thing they had ever tasted (chocoholics like me!!!) Richard kept Rebecca, who had fever but did great (even at the recital). After the recital they were exhausted and Lucy fell asleep for about half an hour before it was time to go play t-ball. We have a book called Baseball Ballerina that they love,so I let them wear their buns to the t-ball game and called them the baseball ballerinas. Little did I know team pictures were that night (they changed the date on me). So they looked a little weird in their uniforms with their cleats, gloves and their hair in BUNS. Can't wait to get the pictures.

Prayer for Will Hodges

The following is an email I received from Kim Hodges. Her husband Frank and I graduated from high school together.
"We need your prayers desperately!! To make a long story short, yesterday Frank, my husband, and I found out that our precious little 5 year old boy, Will, may have a cancerous tumor in his right eye. We are going to St. Jude beginning Monday to have further tests done and on Wednesday they will biopsy the tumor to make a final diagnosis. We are overwhelmed and feel as if someone will come and wake us up at any moment. For those of you who do know us well, you know that we know that God is our Heavenly Father. If he is yours as well, you know as well as I that He would be insulted if we did not come and ask for complete healing. He is our Father after all!!! He would want us to come to Him just like our children would come to us if they needed anything. We have the faith that He can heal this tumor so we ask for that first and foremost!!! No matter what, we love the Lord and will keep on no matter what. We decided that a long time ago!!! We need your prayers though and ask for peace and for God to strengthen Will's body. Help us on this journey. If you can, please pray right now--on your knees!! Be bold and go to His throne! Go to Him with your own needs, too. I know that He loves us all and that He is good."
Please pray for precious Will and the Hodges family.
